That image was took from a Long Boat in the Floating Market of Cai Rang, in the summer 1998.
Cai Rang market is very different from the ones of Thailand (crowded of tourists and organized for tourists more than for local people).
The Cai Rang market, in the 98 was a real market for Vietnamese people, from all the Mekong Delta.
hundreds of boats, thousand of people, tons of vegetable, animals, fruits, dresses...
all organized along one of the two main channel of the Mekong, large more than 1 km and with high waves.
and a lot of rain!

Bonjour,

Amicalement Thierry

Bonjourno Paolo

I didn't get to the delta, so tfs. I like the photojournalistic quality, imparted by the grainy b&w. Good work. Bellisimo!

Im absolutely in love with this photo Paolo. It is my favorite one from your photos because its closer to the style of photos I love. Grainy. b/w and photojournalistic stuff like this always appealed to me.

Paolo
This photograph is a documentary piece which shows the lives of ordinary people in a country which is still not widely visited. The grainy nature of the picture adds atmosphere nicely. This is good work.

Aubrey

Hi Paolo:

Very well composed, and very good choice in BW format.

Hello Paolo,

Very nice black and white compo. I like the mood of it. The granny does not bother me. I would only changed the light to give more luminosity. Great work,

Gabriel

Paolo j'aime beaucoup cette photo un peu nostalgique dont l'ambiance triste est aggravée par le NB -
Très joli et très oldie -
Merci et bonne soirée

Ciao Paolo
Thanks a wonderful B&W photo at Can Tho Cai Rang with the floating market. Best regards

Hi Paolo,
Good B&W choice. The resulted atmosphere is marvellous! This floating market seems very appealing. I only know the very touristic one in Bangkok (still a very nice one...).
Well done with this one!
TFS,

Have a nice sunday,
Ricardo

It’s a bit dark from where im looking but im sure it can be fixed.
I like the point of view here I feel the market rush ,busyness and I can almost here them shouting

( I wonder how it would look in color ?)

Hi, Paolo.
I really lke the atmosphere of this shot and I think the B&W treatment and the 'grainy' aspect of the picture fit perfectly with the subject and give an interesting 'taste of nostalgy' to the final result. Thanks for sharing !
