Photographer's Note

This is a close up portrait of an elderly street vendor, a familiar figure around Chau Doc, selling lottery tickets and looked like she had seen many ups and downs in her life. She was an early riser I noticed, like many elderly men and women who were already up at 0430. Her facial features drew attention and I believe that there 's so much inherent beauty that we actually dont look at all the time, and one of the places we often see, that is in the elderly. She has massive amount of life experience for sure and all the wrinkles probably shows her hardest work and who had lived the most.

I was greatly touched in many ways, at her age she seemed to have a hard time making ends meet but admire her steely determination and courage to make a small living. Avoided the eye contact for obvious reasons, and personally this is fraction of meaningful and a life-time learning experience for me. In fact I think she deals through a lot of struggles to survive and the stories of all those are hidden in her look and face, an interesting mosaic about life and a great place to tell a human story.

Once the shutter has been triggered, life cycle continues.....
