Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken at the summer palace of the last Emir of Bukhara Mohammed Alim Khan. The palace is named 'sitorai mohi xosa' - that means: where the stars meet the moon. In 1920 the last emir was forced to flee. He fled to Kabul where he died in 1944.

This photo is sooooo Uzbekistan! I love the graphic art of the building and the policeman/soldier is a great bonus. But for my taste, the colors are a bit pale...

Merhaba Roland. Nice work, all that detail and the soft colours. The man stands out strongly against the bleached wood. Pity that no one has applied a fresh coat of paint- it would be tragic to lose such a building to the ravages of time. regards. Klaudio.
PS I notice in the reply to Yagmur a word which is the same in South Slavic. Yazik is similar to jezik which in Slav means language. Is it coincidence and does yazik mean something totally different?

Toll, dassman nach Dir einen Brunnen in Fritzlar benannt hat! ;-)
Dieses Foto hier besticht durch den unglaublichen Kontrast zwischen Polizist und der kunstvollen Wand und die Sitzgelegenheit der Staatsgewalt ist einfach grotesk. Ein interessanter Beitrag!
