Photographer’s Note

I know there are already some pictures of Samarkand's Registon square at TE, but I wanted to add my version as well. Because the sky is different and the ground is wet because of a thunderstorm the night before. So once again: Ulughbek madrasah to the left, Tillakari madrasah in the centre and Shirdar madrasah to the right. In my opinion one of the nicest architectural ensembles in the world.

Hallo Roland!
Dein Bild zeigt die wahre Größe dieses wunderscönen Komplexes.Schade,daß die Sonne nicht schien um diese wunderschönen Blautöne der Fliesen hervorzuheben....
Aber auch so ist es ein tolles Bild.
Ich habe in den letzten 3 Wochen einen gebürtigen Ukrainer behandelt,der 25 Jahre Cellist am Darmstädter Staatsorchester war und wir hatten viele sehr interessante Gespräche.

Hi Roland,
This is a superb, inspirational shot of one of the most amazing public spaces in the world. The residual moisture in the stones in the foreground make them look more like carpets than stones, and you really made the sky work for you against the domes of the Tillya Karl Madrassah.
