Photographer’s Note
In my series of Uzbek Cuisine I will show you today manti. Manti are steamed dumplings filled with minced mutton and onions. You eat them with cream, if you like. They are known in all Eastern, Central and Western Asia under different names. The word manti is probably of chinese origin: 馒头 (mantou). However mantou is not exactly the same as manti. Osh bo'lsin - enjoy your meal.

Hallo Roland!
Grüße aus dem herbstlich nassen Siegerland!

Hello Roland,
This is classic silk road food...going all the way from Turkey to China (or the other way around). I know Chinese 'mantou' and Turkish 'manti' (both are countries I like a lot), but strangely I did not connect them...that is until I read your note.
In your picture I also appreciate the 'frame' of the food, the 'couleur locale' of the cutlery, tablecloth, etc. It is very difficult to take a good picture of food, but this one is pretty succesful.
Benny
