Photographer’s Note

The little bus that wanders over the mountains , along the steepest and windiest road, I know, arrives at the little mountain town of Pai. The Bus This little boy was with his mother and he was interested to push forward to take a look at this strange foreigner with the big nose. So, he got his picture taken staring cautiously at me. Pai is in a valley in the Mai Hong Son mountains and is home to many hill tribes. It was so remote that, until recently it took several days to reach it by bullock cart. Today it is still a secret , tranquil place , where time stands still.

how lovely is this little boy with his large black eyes and his curious expression!This is really well framed with nice colours!I am agrre with you,Pai is a very nice little town,with an atmosphere that I liked very much,and superb landscape around it!

The trick in this type of candid moment is to be FAST. And you did just that to capture this boy's curious back glance, without blur and good composed view. The hand on the seat, the red pack, good pov.

Hi Kev, what a fine portrait you've come up with here, one of your best IMO, perfectly timed with him peering around the bags. Tech quiblle, to my eye it looks a touch oversharpened, it's on what should be the softer focus hand on the left that makes it stand out.

Long overdue since I wrote you . . . how is your health?
and I saw you have been to Nepal :)
. . . strangers with big noses and white (or red) skin should be watched a lot . . . I know from experience :)

haha, nice title and story, Kevin. Lovely staring look of the kid picked out of the crowded bus. I imagine it's full of passengers and the framing gives me that impression, although it could not be that case at all... ;-) Good one. If we hadn't spend all the time in Laos, this would be one of our destinations...
