This giant Buddha image is located at Wat Intharawihan, in Banglamphu, Bangkok. It's located on Wisut Kasat Road. The actual image is called the Luang Pho To. It's roughly 95 feet tall and 30 feet wide, and was constructed during the reign of King Rama IV; it was begun in 1867 and took until 1927 to complete. It was built using primarily brick and stucco, but is now covered by glass mosaic and 24-karat gold. The topknot allegedly contains the relics of Lord Buddha, brought from Sri Lanka. This temple is not visited quite as often as others by tourists, but the image is quite impressive.
