Ok, I'm going to be the first one to say it...
"THIS IMAGE IS NOT SHARP!!!!!" Some would even say that it's- down right blurry. But, I like it.

This all goes back to that fine debate on the forums about what works better for sports photography; sharp, crisp images or a bit of motion blur to add to the grit, confusion, and excitement that a sport such as Muay Thai entails.

I think this shot conveys that.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts,
- Dan

I would have to agree with you. I think this is an excellent shot! It helps us to feel the motion. TFS

Hi,
we must admit that it is not easy to shot this kind of photos especially is the object is moving/fighting but i guess in this shot you moved/shaked the camera(nowhere is sharp). In your other photos like at least one point is sharp but i still like it. There is movement, pain and color in it.

Hi Dan

Great action shot. These Thai boxes really eat each other. You have really captured the atmosphere here. What intensity. Really well done.

It's unusual to see a blurred shot from you, because you are someone who usually has shots that are technically perfect, but I have to say that I prefer this to the sharp sports shots. This really shows the action and the edginess of the sport better, in my opinion. Great work!

Hi Dan,
I quite enjoy the sport of boxing but am not really into in so far as photography goes because I have never been to a live fight. That said, I think you have captured the sport very well in this series and I congratulate you on a job well done. TFS and Cheers. Gerald

Hey Dan,

Yep, this has got to hurt all right. Having done some contact sport, I know this is going to hurt. But to have one of these shots delivered by a pro, well I dont event want to think about it. As we say in Quebec - Ayoye..

Well I also like the shot and the feel of motion caused by the blur. I think that debate you mentionned has to included the quality of the photo to start with. A good shot with some motion blur is in my opinion, far better then a crisp image that in not interesting. Again, great series here.

Keep you chin up buddy....

Paul

Hi Dan. You did well with the blur here to shown the movement. This looks like a lot of fun to photograph and you have me wishing I had some sort of boxing to photograph around me. Despite the blurriness we have no problem with the details of what is what. Great catch Dan.

Yes,Dan, another dramatic capture and a good composition. I am interested in studying your muay photos, with a view to learning for myself. regards kevin
