After seeing her here many times, I am bringing her to you (this time) all alone...well, almost alone. She was inseparable to her faceless doll. She almost looked like a doll with her H'mong dress and pretty, rosy cheek, but she was a mother and a friend to her homemade doll.
I hope we can smile as we go along with our daily routine. I hope you will smile looking at these two dolls.
Battery of D100 ran out...it's a good thing I brought my Coolpix. This was taken with the latter.

Very, very cute. Nothing to comment on the technical side. Kids seem to like you and your camera a lot!

The resilience and imagination of children is amazing and this haunting photo demonstrates that fact. I recall seeing this girl with her brother, the same doll clutched in her hand. Despite her smile, her face is tucked down and I can't help but wonder what she was experiencing in that moment, perhaps something a simple as shyness. but perhaps something more. An evocative photo Manny, very well done. I'd love to see the same photo with the digital SLR to see if there is a noticeable difference, this in light of our recent conversation. Wonderful job as always. Thanks.

Cheeky and very very cute Manny. A wonderfully self-conscious expression and pose. Absolutely gorgeous little girl and I love the doll as well.

A very cute portrait Manuel, a great one. I love her smile, and yes she almost looks like a doll. The way she stands, smile and hangs her doll is really lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Great details. kind of harsh light works well in this pix of the little smiling girl. Good compo again with the offcentered position offering also some details of the background here..

Wonderful, wonderful, great shot, Manuel. You havea great sence and sharp eyes for this kind of shots, and this is really one of your best. I like the girl's expression, and the faceless doll. I love the wooden BG and the colors, this is an excellent shot, very very well done.

I already recognized her on the thumbnail and was really looking forward to opening the photo, Manny. And of course it made me smile. She is very cute and it is really touching and endearing how much love and happiness she shows taking care of her utterly simple doll. The fact that she is positioned in front of the wooden door makes her stand out even more, in terms of her radiating presence as well as in colors. Great shot.

A classic Manny. Nothing to add to the others.

those colours manny! this is so fresh and crisp and it fits her playfull cute face so well. I am definetely smiling now and that homemade doll is very creative and it matches her clothes (lucky photographer :o). The way she holds her arms so close to her body makes her head look really bige ( I guess it is on all small kids) and that emphazises the first part of your title, she is really cheeky.
waysai (609) 2004-07-04 0:40
Manny for this one, to be honest with you I find a few things not quite natural. First of all - the physical expression seems a bit stand tight and does not appear relax. The eye and the chin was downward thus the smile is not complete. And there is also magenta color casts very visible at the cheeks and the edge of the toy.
1/3 rule started from commercial shots is not always right in straight portrait here, because you have not much there in the left and 2/3 of the kid face/body is not pointing to the left direction.

"we are the cheeky girls..." perhaps you're tired of hearing that hackneyed SE Asian MTV hit. But this is the real thing. beautiful, charming, Manny.
