Photographer’s Note

Hi Everyone, still in the midst of my winter asian journeys, and sending my regards to the TE membership.

Songkran, the water festival celebrating the Buddhist New Year (April 13th) and the coming of the rainy season (Global warming allowing!) is here getting an early start from revelling children in the Sangklaburi hills, west of Kanchanburi province.

C'est tres bon ca, Herve, ca pete de tous les cotes, a peine contenu dans le cadre. Bien vu, pas evident les images de Songkran.
En plus de quoi ca fait vraiment plaisir de te voir contribuer a nouveau, cher ami.

Toujours dans les parages! Sympa et biensaisi sur le vif, on ressent bien l'atmosphere de rigolade associée a cet evenement... Je fais un petit theme Songkran...

Oh Herve, you have posted a new picture and it is magnificent. All the fun, excitement and action of Songkran distilled into one image two portraits are perfect as is the splash of frozen water. Somehow the teddy bear of the tee shirt is a wonderful motif. Regards kevin

Great action shot, Herve. You have captured very well the happiness coming from the kids. What i like the most out of the image is the way the water creates two planes adding a yin-yang composition style.

Très belle scène de jeu et de joie, très bien capturé avec l'eau pas trop figé pour garder du mouvement et un cadrage serré pour nous y plonger au coeur.

Great shot Herve!

You really had perfect timing for this one as the water has just exploded between the two boys. What really makes this shot for me is the detailed happy smiles of the kids as they make the best of the water festival.
I've never been in Thailand during the festival- but it would make for some great shots- I can imagine!

I love this fun moment in action. The spray of the water and their expressions together with your tight framing make for a great shot. Black and white works well too.

A joyful close-up catching a fine moment of friendship and fun. Clearly kids all over the world have moments of great joy even though their conditions of life can differ a lot. You have shown it very well. Regards Jens
