A nice capture of this guy in Thanon Maharaj. He is there most days. People who are interested in Buddhist votive tablets (Phra Pim) go to browse and buy there. I often go because thousands of them have been made going right back to the Ankor Wat period in the 12 century. Many people, including me, find them artistically and historically fascinating. It is true that many simple people invest them with certain superstitious power. But this is not Buddhist. They were originally made as souvenirs of visits to holy places or offerings to be placed in temples. You have caught the guy's character very well, but maybe a tighter crop would, I think, make it even better.As a street photographer, you real mistake -sorry to say this- was to take the picture while he was so obviously posing and looking into the camera. You should have used one of the photographer's tricks to make him relax or distract him at the moment of taking, to get a more natural look. Sorry to write so much, but it is because I find your picture interesting on several levels

strange situation...i was actually doubting whether this was a man or a woman. a very straight forward and different picture from thailand. i like it.
