Photographer’s Note

That is Government house, which has been taken over by the army last night... Prime minister Thaksin is in New York for UN conference....Tanks are all over Bangkok... and i m flying there after tomorrow!
But no blood has been shed...

Hi Laurent, both thinked about the same thing today.
i hope that your travel to BKK will be ok, and whitout problems.
i lived a similar thing some years ago, when in Cambodia there was a golpe and we rest 2 days in the Phonm Phen airport with the tanks all around...

hoping that that crazy situation will end quikly.

Excellent picture of an urban landscape! Very nice hour of the day and beautiful colours. About the composition i think you did very well to "disobey" the "rule of thirds". Beautiful sky and clouds!

a very sharp & enjoyable shot with serious elements exceot for the flaming cloud which makes it very dramatic.

Hard, the military pictures I saw on TV. But till now nothing worse happened. No blood and no fights if I'm informed right.

La photo est tout simplement SUPERBE !
Le ciel à lui seul ferait la photo avec un nuage bien éclairé et bien formé mais les reste est aussi très beau.

I too am going to Bangkok this week and waiting to hear the latest news on the situation. I don't think that there will be too many problems, it seem rather peaceful to me. Nice capture, esp. of the towering cloud. Good position also, with little FG, and the sky with the most attention. Well done.

It's all quite here, Laurent. The excitement is all over.You will have no worries. The King has spoken, and he is totally respected. It is interesting that you had a shot of the Governemnt House -lamentable architecture!- but it is very relevant now. You can photograph it again tomorrow with tanks outside.

tu as presque eu tord de choisir le bâtiment comme sujet de la photo, tellement le nuage qui le surmonte est super et attire le regard.
Une scène sombre bien relevée par de l'éclairage artificiel.

Une image interessante plus pour la lumiere sur le nuage qui attire l'attention a elle que pour le batiment, mais au final la disposition en triangle des 3 elements (avec la statue) marche bien, a propos de la statue justement ce serait bien de cloner cet affreux lampadaire juste a cote.

Une composition intéressante avec ce stradivarius .. pardon ce cumulo-nimbus sur le ciel.
Il n'est pas possible de sous exposer le ciel sinon l'avant plan risque de se transformer en silhouette.
Heureux qu'il n'y a pas eu d'évènements tragiques.

How's PP? Already hot & humid? This is a beautiful shot, well composed with the low horizon. The cloud, lit up by the sunset light is the main attraction. Good balance between the Govt. house & the silhouetted statue on the right.
