Photographer’s Note
In the little town of Pai, in northwestern Thailand, the main road of the small town is a buzz of vibrancy. Most people come out in the afternoon for the street market.
The short strip is filled with Thais and tourists picking over the produce or cuts of meat (all kinds of meats), standing at one of the food stalls, or like these kids, sharing a songthaw on the way home from school.
I saw this songthaw coming from a few yards away and noticed the lone boy in the back looking out.
