Buddhist Discussion

Sun was slowly getting down and I was walking by the Patong Beach area when I captured these Buddhist monks.
The picture has been cropped and a smal burned-out lens flare has been removed with Gimp/Linux. |

Very strong image. I like the few simple blurred shapes in the otherwise nicely blurred background. This is excellent.

Looking at this image one imagines they are engaged in a Zen-kind philosophic discussion about the blurriness (nice word, he?) of existence... But in fact they probably were simply talking about everyday life...
Nicely captured against the light!

Hi Juuso,
This composition really grabbed my attention with its excellent framing and detail. The detail is so good that you can even see the monk's eyelashes in the near silhouette. The orange light from the setting sun implies the orange robes and makes the photo seem like a photo of monks without even seeing the title. The dark gleam of the orange robes shines through, making the photo an interesting variation on a silhouette. I like the angle of the branch and the palm frond too; although before TE, I would have avoided them as 'untidy'.
Regards, Pat
