Photographer’s Note
Do you remember that incredible Roberto Benigni's speech in 'Down by Law' by Jim Jarmush? Roberto is jailed together with Tom Waits and John Lurrie, and opposite to those two, who claim themselves 'innocent', Benigni tells a story how he had killed a man. - 'He thrown a ball at me, I thrown a ball at him. And I killed him.'-
This picture is taken during the Songkhran, Thai New Year. This holiday is connected with water. On Buddhist celebration the statues of Buddha are posted in front of the temples, and people wash the statues with flower water. In Chiang May there is huge and beautiful procession and people are throwing the water on the statues (and other people). Since a long time this tradition evolved also into more secular feast - street water fights. From 8am till 6pm no one is dry on the streets. And there is no mercy. No matter you are a policeman, an old man, or exclusively dressed lady.

I like much this moment and especially the explanations which seems to transport us on the spot! It seems to me that the development is not enough on the subject. A little blur.
