Photographer’s Note
This is my official Christmas greeting to all of you here in TE. Inspired by Steeve and Ken, I went to the market this morning to take pictures of Thai fruits (all pictures were shot in the market) as my way of sharing something to you this Christmas. December is a fruit-friendly season here in Thailand. In the Philippines, we celebrate Christmas with an endless supply of fruits in the dinner-table. I will be flying home to the Philippines tomorrow early morning and I may be able to post pictures from there occassionally. But for now, here's my collage of Thai fruits as my way of saying thank you to everyone. My special thanks to Ken for introducing me to the wonderful world of TE. And for Adam, et. al., Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
BTW, the fruits are : Thai grapes, lamot (which we call "chico" in the Philippines), Chinese pear, and strawberry from Chiang Mai.
All pictures are just adjusted using auto-adjustments and unsharp mask. I have a LOT more pictures of other fruits.

A fruity Christmas card! A wonderful and mouth-watering idea, Manny. Superb capture, I like to see how even a shot of strawberries or grapes can be well-composed.
Merry Christmas to you, too.

a wonderful puzle of exotic fruits. Original idea, very well captured. You can add it to Steeve's fruits theme. strawberries and grapes are very common at the world but I never saw the others. I would like to see some more. Well done, Manuel.

Great postcard montage. To Steeve : this is what I was refering to as a quadriptyc ;-).
just to add a bit of information, the "Lamot" or "Chico", in the upper right hand side is called in Vietnam "saboche" and known for westerners as "sapodilla" (my spelling could be wrong in english, in french "zapotille").
That's a somehow disgraceful fruit, looking from the outside like a potato but with very particular honeydew taste, between the fig and very ripe mango taste.
Mexico travelers should be quite accustomed to this fruit as it grows also in central america (in fact its name is coming from an aztec word).
It's outstanding in juices : for who's now in Saigon, indulge yourself at the Rex Hotel terrace with a "saboche" juice on the rocks while looking down at the street frenesy...

You have carried out your nice idea very well, Manny. Being a vegetarian, an endless supply of exotic fruits would be my ideal way to celebrate Christmas. We look forward to more than the occasional posting from your home.

A fine x-mas greeting Manuel, not only as an artistic composition with strong colours in a fine setting, but also a good reminder for us up north who fill the stomach with flesh and fat during the coming days.
And a peaceful x-mas to you

It is moving your shape to offer us your wishes! Photos are net and the very well returned colours. Some remarks however because in TE it is always necessary to make better: the uneven shape of the centrings disturbs my pleasure of salivation! There are some disparities which could be certainly corrected and in the photo of grapes, there is a scratch and some dusts. You who excel at the technique, would not it there take place to make even better? And it is what I wish you by offering you my wishes also.

Thank you for this greeting card Manny. The "chico" is a little bit out of focus but it's a good job.

Unique way to show Thai fruits. I like the composition of each picture. The colours are very vibrant and this makes me yearn to visit the market ASAP. I like your asymmetrical design. My favorite.

A Merry Christmas to you Manny. Thanks for sharing those fruits with us. The tradition in Canada during Christmas time would be to make a fruit cake with dates, dried raisins, cherries, nuts, dried fruits such as pineaple, orange, etc, and often the cake will be injected with rhum and left to macerate during a few weeks. In our family the usual Christmas supper is roasted turkey with cranberry sauce completed by a fruit salad which is lighter than cake after such a big meal.

Sorry, can't write longer, have to go to the refrigerator, where this time the fruits are in Germany...

Very unusual composition to TE! And a very sucessful one! It's like a postcard.
Great imagination Manuel. And a good note too!
In Portugal we comemorate Christmas with traditional sweets, most of them of ancient conventual and monastery origins. There are so many and so different that it's hard to choose sometimes! So not so healthy has your christmas... ;-)
Feliz Natal! (Merry Christmas)
