Photographer's Note
I have several purposes in posting this photo. One, I love this little beach. It's a vastly underrated and little known beach that gets completely overshadowed by its more popular neighbor, West Railey. It's a tranquil and very easy going little beach with decent sand, plenty of cold drinks, a laid back population, and many recreational opportunities.
Secondly, I've not posted anything from my Thailand portfolio yet.
And third, I want to show what a nice picture can come from a tiny little point and shoot camera. This was taken with my take-it-everywhere pocket camera, a Canon S200. It's about the size of a deck of cards and fits unobtrusively in any pocket or bag, but it's got the heart of a big, fancy dSLR. It loves to snap breathtaking, clear, colorful shots like this. I'm so impressed with the little camera that I'm never without it.
Other than the minimal necessary Unsharp Mask, this is the image that came out of the camera. And this is why I'm a fan of Canon digitals.
This photo was taken on a beautiful clear day near the end of my trip to Thailand. As I was strolling along the beach, I just stopped to snap a few scenes, amazed that I nearly had such a fantastic beach all to myself.

You have captured this scene with nice lighting.I really like the colours you have caught in the sea from the reflections and the shadow and light on the beach.I have photographed this scene but the colours weren't nearly as nice as you have captured here

Good picture. I always wondered what is the ratio of good camera / skilled photographer that makes a ood photo. I hate seeing know it alls with big Nikon D70s (and I am jealous because I cant afford one!), but here your skill and composition with a small camera is very evident. Regards - Paul
