My trip to Burma started in Thailand or, to be more precise, with a 10 hour stopover in Bangkok between flights. Rather than waiting in the airport I went to have a look at the city.
This image was taken in Taling Chan market where, apart from the floating restaurants, I also spent some time admiring the colourful boats carrying tourists around in the canals. It was difficult to take photos because of very high contrast (which you can see in one of the WS images) so I thought of Abmdsudi and his panned street shots...
This lady is a Thai girl. The boat driver and she were looking for a tourist to offer their services to.

Most tourists to Bangkok will bring home photos similar to those in the workshop, but very few will capture anything like this. They would probably regard this kind of photo a disaster;-). But I like it a lot. Great colours and great blur and a perfectly placed pink ghost.

this image is wrong, no sharpness and we even cannot see the subject, but when you see it, you got a big feeling of joy due to the vivid contrast of the bright colors, a feeling of real dream with the pink silhouette absorbed by boats in motion, this is really a creative way to show something different from the mundane postcards.
hats oof for the idea andits realisation!

A bit out of your comfort zone maybe, but an arresting and effective image. Back in the days of film, I remember taking similar pictures, and when the film came back from the processor's, they often didn't print these, and there was a sticker on the negative saying "blurred, out of focus"! I love the impressionist effect. And it's overcome the high contrast!

Interesting experiment, resulting in a rainbow lady. :)

Tu as bien cerné ton sujet principal et la longue exposition est techniquement parfaitement réalisée. une photo qui attire le regard dans la galerie.

That's my cup of tea Kasia, can't fault the try when this becomes an interesting abstraction that kept drawing me back and growing in me..I think you have the potential for a great panning image here as the pink woman appears to be fairly sharp in focus. It's good effort that I love the vibrant colours which makes a nice pattern in this abstract. Nice piece which has allowed you to think outside of the photographic book of rules and when you get to my age they are all blurred!! hope you're not getting hooked on motion blur.. lol. Those two extra images put this into perspective. Creative and imaginative shot, Congrats

Hi dear Kasia
Yes shooting outside is far better than killing times in transit room. Long shutter speed( 1 seconds or longer) makes very artstic image as such. Seeming like an oil painting.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

witaj Kasiu, 10 godzin to wystarczająco duzo czasu, żeby zwiedzić sobie Bangkok.

Superb creative picture. I adore this kind of artistic experiments. Often they go wrong, but sometimes it is just what you hoped it will be. Photography as a medium for art.

An unusual abstract shot from Bangkok with wonderful streaks of motion blurred color. I can make out the long tail boats in the water. A creative and imaginative shot with the standing woman anchoring the image. Tfs!

how on earth did I miss this one in your gallery?
glad I happened to stumble on it now.
so you had a 10 hour layover, did you stress out time-wise when you were in the city, fearful of not getting back to the airport in time? Because once you leave the gate, you then have to re-check in and go through security ALL OVER AGAIN right? that would suck, but the benefit is you get to explore the city a bit.
and looking at your WS photos, you certainly had the right idea to get creative and try some panning. Love the WS photo's of the engines, I never knew they were that large!
the final result of this main post is kind of haunting, but in a good way. love the rainbow of colours and the streaking visual effect. awesome!

This is a creative shot with the ghostly image of the young lady in pink just visible. I will look at the ws images. Many thanks for sharing your experiences.

Do you know that even before I saw the title to this beautiful photo, I thought, "this is such an Abmdsudi photo". I sure it will be well-appreciated by our talented street photographer. beautiful colours, great effects with the slow exposure and fantastic conceptually speaking. There is a marvellous sense of movement (as there always is with Abmdsudi's street photography). You have captured the wonderful vibrant essence of Asia so skilfully. Congratulations.

I like this picture! The visual effect you got here is beautiful, the colours and the "ghost" lady create an interesting photo. Well done,

This is another stunning piece of work - technically outstanding, and as holmertz says, taking a run-of-the-mill, or rather, very popular locatuon and producing something quite different and quite special. The colours in the blurred section are quite unusual - but you have got some absolutely perfect detail on the young woman - especially on her left arm - which allows our eye a way in to the composition. In terms of telling a story with this shot (and assuming I have got her field of work correct) the lack of detail on the face - turning her in to something of an everywoman is very important - and the irony of her breasts being quite well covered by the colourful blur adds strongly to the composition. Great work, thanks, Iain
