Wat Ban Den is located in Inthakin village in Mae Taeng district some 45 kilometers North of Chiang Mai city.
Wat Ban Den is an amazingly attractive and unusual Thai Temple. The Abbot, known as Kru Ba Tuang, inherited the Temple in very poor condition and in 1988 he set out to create the most beautiful Thai Temple in the area. He managed to raise huge sums of money, donated by local people and Buddhists from across the country. Abbot Kru Ba Tuang has completely renovated the Wat Ban Den and added a number of impressive structures.
The main Temple building is built with teakwood and granite tiles and is in the Lanna Style. There are many examples of exquisite teakwood carving inside the temple. Although the structures of the Wat are relatively new, they are built in traditional architectural style.
Wat Ban Den is also one of the largest temple complexes in Chiang Mai province. The complex contains a large number of structures including an ordination hall, a viharn, a meditation hall, the kuti or monks living quarters, a drum hall and several other buildings.
In this picture, is the entrance to the magnificent teak wood viharn of the Wat. It is one of the more imposing structures of the Wat Ban Den with distinctive Lanna style and a three tiered roof. The viharn on the whole, is an attractive building with its blue roof and golden bargeboards, decorated with intricate wood carvings as you can see here. I loved the reflection on the shining floor.
I strongly recommend anyone visiting Chiang Mai to visit this new Wat ...

Your viewpoint has delivered a scene which is beautifully framed by ornate pillars and decorative fret work and, of course, is emphasised by the reflections in the smooth, highly polished tiles. We have to look very carefully to define what is real and what is reflected.
A delightful shot.
My warm regards,

Nice view of ornate temple. Beautiful architecture and artwork. I like the optical illusion you have successfully created over here with the help of the reflections. The temple well frames the green fields which go on and till the horizon. Excellent imagery. Thanks for sharing.

The distance between the entrance and the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing with precision the details and the colours of the entrance. Have a nice dya.

J'aime beaucoup le côté graphique de cette composition. J'aime la très belle symétrie de l'ensemble. Cette fenêtre est magnifique et le paysage au loin lui rend bien justice.

great the sight from the fabulous entrance of the Wat as made from the excellent teak wood viharn.
I like the superb view from this POV of the exterior of the Wat with the light management of the interior,to enhance even more the beauty and the contrast of the exterior.

In fact two different pictures here, one interesting interior and a beautiful exterior view. Well combined with a good frame for the outdoor landscape view. Perfect exposure and excellent colours.

Hello Angshu - I missed this wonderful upload and I'm pleased to see it today! This encapsulates so much that I like in Northern Thailand, the fields stretching out to the distant mountains, the feeling of rural peacefulness and quiet industry and of course the temples. I do like the way you have composed this shot with the two elements intertwined so strongly in the life of Thailand.
The reflections in the tiled floor make a super feature in your composition.

This is my favorite kind of photo, frame within the frame. Actually, you have two very elaborate frames within your frame showing magnificent views and fancy latticework. Well seen and exquisitely rendered.

A good symmetrical composition with excellent warm cold color contrasts between the yellow red orange pillars either side and the grey blue tiles and hazy bg sky. Good sharpness and nice use of the twin arches to frame the bg scene. Tfs!

That glossy ceramic floor and its mirror reflections offer you such a great opportunity to make a shot in collaboration with your keen sharp eyes and photo skill. That's the final end result, a splendid work of art finely shot emphasising on depth, perspective as well as the beauty of the interior. Exposure is exquisite with good contrast of colours, i feel that green helps to click the eyes at glance, while the columns effectively guide viewer straight into the scene. It's a fine photo effort with great atmosphere. Congrats, TFS

your framing has an almost surgical precision, you have played perfectly with the reflections of the landscape on the glasses of this entrance, while you have avoided your own reflection.
I love the quality of the light and of the colors, in a beautiful and sharp image.

first of all my eye was drawn to the symmetry of the window with the pattern reflected so well below on the tiles. Then of course the doorways themselves create a frame within a frame and invite us to view the wonderful panorama of the countryside beyond. A thoughtfully composed image. Well done.
