Like other children of his age, this 2-plus year old Lahu kid was active and running about when I visited his 'village'. It was challenging keeping pace with him to take photos of him. But for a brief moment, he curiously approached me, providing me this snapshot...
There are 4 sub-tribes within the Lahu ethic group - Black, Red, Yellow and She-Leh. Originally from the mountainous region of south-wesy China, they are now also found in northern Thailand (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son), Myanmar and Laos. There are about 25,000 Lahus in Thailand, predominantly Red Lahu.
