Photographer’s Note
I was driving between the west and eastern coasts of Phuket Thailand and noticed that this shallow lake bed where the clay below had dried had become heavily cracked, providing a very desolate atmosphere.I metered for the clay which under-exposed the distant hills a little. Techical: Another of my earlier images, taken on an EOS 630 on Fuji Velia, scanned and saturated to +15 via PS.

Lovely use of DOF. There appears to be a slight magenta cast in the sky. Thanks for sharing.

Cool photo, just feel as if I can reach down and touch the clay.
Just a shame that the top of the photo isn't so clear.

Really nice picture with great lines and colours, very intresting as well. The background (the moutains and the trees) are a bit dark and flat, but the rest of the picture is very great. I like the dry ground with the black lines and the way you captured from this point of view. Great!
