Photographer's Note
The death toll in Asia does not seem to stop. I heard a new quake alert has been launched this morning for Tamil nadu and the south east of India.
Let me join all other members in TE and TL to hope for a final stop to this increasing waste of lives.
I have found this photo in my archives as a contribution to express my pain for those who have died, those who have suffereed in their body and for those who have lost some dear members of their families or relatives and friends.
I shall not be present on the site till jan 3rd.

yes eric. infact a new tsunami alert has been sounded off for the east coast of india and also the andaman and nicobar islands which have been worst hit ..
but they are also saying that there will most likely not be another tsunami but just to be on the safe side, they're trying to evacuate the people and bring them atleast 2 kilometres inside from the coast.

Eric,
++++
I shall become a dream, and through the little opening
of your eyelids I shall slip into the depths of your sleep;
and when you wake up and look round startled,
like a twinkling firefly I shall flit out into the darkness.

My thoughts go out to all those people who have been affected by the tsunami that has caused so much devastation across South East Asia.
This is a fine tribute to Tsunami Memorial

Une image qui m'incite au receuillement en pensant à cette terrible catastrophe. Toutes ces victimes innocentes qui on du payer de leur vie une information non transmise par manque de technologie.Bonne et heureuse année./jr

not the shot, but the thought that counts. I've refrained from saying anything about the disaster because I can't really find the proper phrasing. the shot sums it up.

Like everyone else, my thoughts are with the people in the areas that have been hit, and my heart is in my throat when I think of the scale of the tragedy. I think this is a very fitting memorial Eric.
Happy New Years to you.

Une image de recueillement avec et pour ceux qui souffrent et ceux qui ont disparu dans cette tragédie qui touche l'humanité tout entière.

Save the best for last...my last critic for the day (no less than to a great TE friend). I hope you a very happy new year.
The picture is poignat. The noise carries such a message. Amidst the adversities, this boy resigns his fate to his God. Nice picture...you've captured the essence of religiosity of the region. 2005 will be a better year...
All the best,
Manny

Hi Eric, thanks very much for this picture for the victims of the Tsunami.
I like the orange colour, it seems like a colour of hope.

In just about every religion in this planet, the praying place is always a little bit on the dark side, with little flickering of lights and solemn environment. Maybe just as well because disaster has the same tonality. But really, religion is a state of the mind with God, either wanting to or not, living in our hearts. I guessed that explained it all. God has another name and it is Hope.
Hope we all have better life in the coming of days. Happy New Year Eric.
