Photographer's Note

In our Chiang Trai trip, the group requested some native Akha women to pose for us. This is a difficult shot because not only do we have to wake up very early in the morning (4:30 AM) but that I have to expose very well to get the features of the woman. Most of the effect here was achieved through post-processing. I have to make the woman a bit brighter...just enough to expose her dramatically.

Anyway, the Akhas are one of the many minority groups in Chiang Rai. They have a very distinct culture and they have such intricate costumes. Such a delight to photograph though this one is a setup shot.
