Photographer’s Note

In Thailand, rice cultivation and harvesting continues, almost unchanged, as it has done for centuries. Nowadays the water supply is much more organized and dependable.
The traditional, ploughing pulling water buffalo has given way to the "mechanical buffalo" (a small, hand guided tractor with wide "paddle" wheels). But much else remains the same.
When the rainy season is over rice and other crops are ready for harvest which takes time in the months of november, december and january.

Une belle image toute verte avec le toit qui a du mal à émerger. Un bon angle pour nous faire apprécier cette végétation luxuriante.

Hi Marilyn.
The title really reminds me of one of my pictures called "White carpet". Different seasons, but based on the same. The green is everywhere in this picture, and you describe well in the note. Good presentation of how life must be down there in Thailand. TFS.

qu'y a t-il de plus beau que le vert des rizières,surtout lorqu'il est comme ici,éclairé par quelques rayons de soleil,et associé à un splendide paysage!Je me souviens de mon émerveillement lors de nmes longues ballades en moto,tu me donnes la nostagie!

Bonjour Marilyn,
La lumière rend les verts tendres lumineux. Ton image donne plus d'impact à l'aspect luxuriant de la végétation. La cabane à peine visible est un élément sur lequel on s'attarde. Une très belle image composée avec ton talent habituel. Bravo.

Superbe harmonie de vert sur cette photo, et je m'aperçois que les herbes sont bien hautes dans cette région... Faut connaître les lieux pour ne pas se perdre !!! Tu as bénéficié d'une très belle luminosité pour pour donner du relief à ce paysage luxuriant. Très agréable à l'oeil et insolite ce toit émergeant, merci Marilyn.

Hello Marilyn,
La première chose qui m'a interpellé dans ce magnifique paysage, c'est l'intensité du vert ! On voit que la saturation n'est pas excessive, mais la couleur offre une esthétique toute particulière. Le cadrage est très bien réalisé et donne un bon visuel sur la végétation. Très bien vu !

Ce tapis vert est superbe. On s'y roulerait bien dedans. J'aime la lumière sur ce coin de montagne. La maison ne montre que le bout de son toit et les plantes du premier plan donnent de la profondeur de champ.

This is a scene so typical of a tropical country, lush after the rainy season in almost radiant green!! Its interesting to see how many shades of green can be seen in the picture and the small hut tipping its 'head' out the green creates a good focal point. Well done!
