Just a few meters from the Hindu temple at Silom is this nice mosque. Itís almost time for sunset and there was this Thai couple sitting at a table opposite to the mosque drinking Whisky. None of the Muslim bordered or looked at them. The atmosphere is very multi-cultural in this corner of the capital.
The area along Silom Road, extending to Suriwong Road on one side and Sathorn on the other, is Bangkok's main financial district. Some call Silom Road Thailandís Wall Street has some truth to it, as major financial establishments must have at least a branch here. Apart from the infamous red light district Patpong, its associated night bazaar and some of the capitalís most expensive hotels there are some interesting sights off the beaten track at Silom such as the only pure Hindu temple and the nearby Indonesian mosque.
The Muslim settlers from Indonesian Java Island under the Dutch jurisdiction lived in Pradit Lane opposite the Hindu Temple. Some have moved away but several of them still live there. They open the Mirasutdin Mosque for traveling Muslims to come pray or join in religious functions.

Hi Urs, Not typical photo from Bangkok. Nice composition with the red haired tourist. Interesting architecture of the Mosque.

OlŠ Urs, almost seems that you are showing a secret corner of Bkk. Interesting alignment of elements, the couple, the motorbike passing by and the mosque, all in the same straight line. It gives a nice depth to the scene and the sky makes a beautiful background. Excellent note as usual.

Blue hour creates pleasing ambiance but we normally struggle with the fg details. The fired flash brings out the light in the fg and yet keeping the sky with its full vibrancy. The architecture is very well metered exposing fine details. Good job and thanks for sharing.

great composition. There are so many focal points in this shot, the couple in FG, the motorcycle and the nice mosque that is very enjoyable. Colour, depth and light all fine. Tfs.
Have a great time.
PS- I would like to know about the golden dome like structure in the mosque? The mosque is in nice focus and looks sharp while it seems blurred. Is it rotating?
