Photographer’s Note

We spent the last few days of our trip chilling out on the island of Koh Samet. To get there from Bangkok is only a two hour drive to the mainland coast on the Gulf of Thailand and then a short ferry trip. Alternatively you can arrive on a speedboat directly onto the beach.

This image was taken in the morning sun, but late every day the clouds came in and we had rain. The shot in the WS was taken on the first afternoon about 4 pm. I was going to post that as main, as it fits the note better, but I prefer this image, so the following story is a bonus.

One night there was a lightening storm, but no rain. Rob & I were walking back along the beach after dinner, marvelling at the lightening illuminating the night sky. We decided to sit on the sand and watch the ‘light display’. No sooner had we sat down then Rob was tapped on the shoulder and there was the beach guard with two deck chairs for us. Now that’s service!
