Photographer’s Note

Ko Tao translates to Turtle Island. It is one of the top diving destinations in South East Asia. Nang Yuan Island is in the distance. Polarised.

The wooden structure in the water, on the right, is used by Thai fishermen, to catch squid at night. The squid are attracted by the lamplight, & the fishermen actually wade out to, or boat to the structure, & position themselves there.

Hi Chris,
Thailand, Australia and New Zealand are countries that I liked to visit. Allways in my life I had a strong attration for that.

A very beautiful paradisiac beach and here you captured very well this wonderful scenery. Fine contrast, sharpness and a perfect enquadrement of these natural and nice elements. Good light and colors.

Good placement of the boat as a compositional anchor, Chris. Very pleasant range of blue and turquoise hues to be found, and the shadow effects on the sand are nice, too. I would perhaps have slightly cropped it at the bottom (and at the left for balance), in a way that the line where the water meets the land would hit the bottom left corner. Beautiful shot.

That's a beauty, no doubt, all perfect balanced, colors, contrast in sun and shade, texturing in the clouds, a fine light blue sea and the most suggestive boat to jump in and to take off in this sea paradise.

Of all the scanned negative picture you have posted, this one is the best of all.
The peaceful color tones and surrounding give the point to the picture, whereas the clear blue sea are so much tantalizing.

Lovely clear colours and such a tempting scene, Chris. I like the patterns made by the light shade on the sand. I agree with Norbert's suggestion about cropping, but this is a beautiful shot - well done.
