Frog Princess, a photo from Surat Thani, South

Photographer's Note

Just a funny shot that I took at one of the lotus pools at Anantara in pitch darkness at night. It sort of looks to me like an illustration to our famous fairy-tale "The Frog Princess". I was amazed at how that little frog was sitting by a huge lotus flower as if paralyzed and totally ignoring me flashing at her. There was not a single stir or sound from her. I don't know how long she sat like this, well, I had other plans than sitting next to her:))

I really love this photo, which has meaning and photo expression. The clarity and detail to frog and flower are beautifully presented with superb color and light management. Love you artistic POV here Marina!!

using flash can often present numerous problems and difficulties...but i have to say that it worked out very well here.
I like the subjects, the way the light is dispersed and the way the frog is just sitting there staring at the flower as if trying to communicate with it :)

A sweet little amphibian beauty nicely captured, I think she turns into a Princess after midnight! Love the comp, in cracking colours super detail and tones and interestingly this cutie is not camera shy and the range of colours is just superb and stunning contrast. The way the fill-in light is picking out is beautiful revealing the wonderful colors and texture. A well spotted photo opportunity and a delightful image. Well done tfs

this is a lovely shot with the title to be clever and unique.I like the great snapshot with the frog to looks so spell-bound the white lotus flower.
Excellent light management as the photo can easily used in a cover of a fairy tale.

This is not just a fun shot ! It's very beautiful and cleverly done, considering you snapped in pitch-dark ! With excellent light management, you brought out the bright white of the flower, and the golden colour of the frog against the darker green of the water plants.
I find it just delightful.
