| In july we were sailing. We went from Malaysia to the Thai Island of the Butang Group. On these island, the Tsunami hit not as devastating as in other parts of Thailand but nevertheless (and thank god) there have also been taken safty measures for the future. Around the island there are signs so you can find your way to the shelter. In this picture, you can see a cross in the back. I'm not sure it was for the victims of the tsunami, but seeing it next to a tsunami safetysign made it feel a bit creepy. Also, it was low season, so everything seemed abandoned, which added to the strang feeling. It looked nothing at all like the beautiful photos I had already seen of this place... |
