Photographer's Note

Keeping to the right at the estuary there is the Hat Hin Ngam after some 10 minutes walk from the sleepy hamlet Sichon in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Standing on the top of a small hill the lovely beach stretches to the horizon in the south. It is a bit hazy due to the slash and burn agriculture and illegal burning of jungle in Sumatra, but at Hat Hin Ngam no souvenir vendor will border the few sun lovers who are alone with the white sand and the deep blue sea. There is a sole resort at the next beach to the south. At weekends some local youth is visiting the beach, but most locals just sit in the alfresco restaurant below hill top to eat seafood and enjoy the sunset over Sichon
