Photographer's Note
A tender moment caught in the middle of the chaos that a flock of monkeys invariably bring with them.
Monkeys are cute but they are not very mild mannered animals. People tend to feed them because they are cute so the monkeys lose any fear they have of humans and the result can be seen in the form of monkey raids. That is when a flock of monkeys raid a beach or a restaurant leaving a stream of screaming laughing and outraged tourists behind them, and very little food... They can even run off with backpacks and other personal items that they find interesting.
This picture was taken on the edge of the Phranang beach which is the nicest beach in the Railey area. Maybe they where preparing a raid, or maybe they where just hanging.

restful shot of these two..my food was attacked by a baboon at lake manyara..we had to throw stones to get rid of it..there was a food pit at the picnic site and that drew them in..the dominant male just raced in and took out food straight off the benches..

A wonderful family scene but photographically the backlight is very fine both to give the leaves a fine glow and to give life to their furs.

A tender moment. Mother and child are just relaxing in teh shade, feling safe and posing for by-passing photographers. The litle child is the sweetest litle thing whit those big eyes in that litle face. It is very sweet how the childs hand is reaching out as if mabye to grab mam's hand or just keeping the balance.

Amazing story, Mattias. This can tell how close we are to monkeys sometimes, don't you think. I like the fact that your notes are opposite to the feeling the photo causes me. So tender, with the sun lighting her flue. Very nice.

I don't know how I let this photo slip my eyes! It is a very warm and soothing photograph. I like how the monkeys and leaves are backlit by the sun. The only problem IMO is that it makes the monkeys slightly too dark. (Still a great photo. I added it to my favourites!)
I did a workshop. Have a look...

a really cute picture of mama and baby..you're right about monkeys not being well mannered. they're rather nasty and rude..(i've had a bad experience with one) but i still love them.. they're intelligent and funny and cute-though some of them look really sinister
