Photographer's Note
This is a scene from the Bung Ban Fai festival in Roi Et, in Thailand’s Laotian speaking North East. The festivals take place in many part of the North-East and are intended to call for the rains to come at the end of the dry season. These ladies were sheltering in a nearby workshop waiting for their turn to dance in the parade. They are not wearing the traditional costume of this region as they would for folk dances (loctoon and Molam) but the traditional court dress of the Siamese Kingdom. This is because they are going to present the Thai classical dancing. I think they present a perfect image of what Thais would consider the traditional beauty.

Hi Kevin,
It looks a bit much like a studio shot, but other than that it is a nice double portait full of asian grace. The elaborate and shining costumes add to the appeal of the ladies.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Kevin,
I personally like the studio feel here! And the quality is nice here with rich colors(maybe a bit less blue but no problem) excellent details and beautiful ladies and costumes...
See you tonight!

Hi Kevin, like laurent says before it looks quite like a studio shot. Very good image of the classical Thai dancers. I wonder about their skin, are they poudered over and over? Good double-portrait. Nino

Typical, lovely and cool. A classical compo but it works with that kind of mood.

Hi Kevin,
Beautiful dancers in traditional costumes and jewelleries, but they wear heavy make up and thier skin in pink color like west country people, and I think you had blur something at the left bottom, anyway thanks for sharing a cultural shoot.

Excellent tech and a well realised set piece. The lighting looks like you've got a studio set there, is that simply daylight?

Kevin,
You must have a special way of communicating. The ladies look so relaxed, natural.
I would have like to seen a little bit more of their hands, but it is not a studio portrait, and I understand the frame how it is now.
Very well processed.
Again, I'm really impressed by their pose. Don't know how to say it better in english :(
have a nice day,
Davids

Hi Kevin, There is certainly something wonderous about the beauty of ladies from this area. Unsure why, maybe the mixing of various races over the centuries but the result of wide gene-pool certainly pays off. Beautiful duel portrait. TFS. Murray
