Photographer's Note

"SALA KAEW KOO" has been founded by "LUANG PU BUN LEUA SURIRAT" in 1976. He has fled Laos after the 1975 communist victory. "LUANG PU BUN LEUA SURIRAT" is not a Buddhist monk. "SALA KAEW KOO" is not a Buddhist temple. There is no monks in saffron robe inside. The hall for sermons and the garden contain many statues mixing Bouddhist, animist and Brahmanic influences. The tallest statue in "SALA KAEW KOO" is a Buddha statue protected by a huge snake. It is around 25 meters high. "SALA KAEW KOO" is a green place with many plants such as cactus and so on... "SALA KAEW KOO" entrance fee is 10 Baht for adults. Money is used to take care about "SALA KAEW KOO. "SALA KAEW KOO" pavilion contains some Buddha statues and a little shop selling postcards, books narrating "LUANG PU BUN LEUA SURIRAT" life.
