Photographer’s Note
Sukhothai is the old Thai or Siamese Capital, predating Ayutthaya. (13th century). I hired a bicycle from outside the museum & pedalled around the various interconnected ruins along specially built paths. This was taken late afternoon. I returned the bike at 6pm. Polarised.

Lovely colors and depth, with great details of the construction of the pillar (?) - what is it, actually? A piece of a shrine?

Love the textures of this monument. The various shades of red are also beautiful against the deep blue sky. The POV is contre-plongée and I like the impact that this creates. Nice work.

Astonishing picture with this great effect provided by the contrast between the two main tones of your picture. The deep blue of the sky permits to increase the overall aspect of this ruin. The details are very well defined and the composition very well done by offsetting the main subject in the frame. Very well done !

The late afternoon light has cast a wonderful glow over this stupa(?). Set against the strong blue of the sky it makes a beautiful image.

Hi Chris,
what a stunning shot. The bricks appear to be so gold and they create a fantastic contrast with the deep, blue sky. Very good POV and cood cadrage. I wonder what this would look like with a really wide angle lens.

Hi Chris
Great shot. The warm colours and crumbling texture of the ruin and the vegetation clinging to it are wonderful and your composition excellent. The warm orange of the building against the rich blue of the polarised sky is a brilliant contrast.
Excellent work

Hi Chris,
Very nice capture and beautiful colors. The sharpness and detail of the structure also maintained very well. The deep blue sky is is good background. Also like the portrait setting you've used to shoot this, helps isolate unnecessary backgrounds.

Very nice showing of this old structure, Chris. The late-afternoon light brings a fine glow on the surface details which contrast ideally with the polarized sky. The only minor thing that might be good to have included would be something to illustrate the scale, but I understand that (a) it might not have been easily available and (b) it might interfere with the artistic impression.

Namaste Chris
The contrast is brilliant. Similar structures in Ayutthaya, but this ones look more majestic. You've been able to take care of the grandness of the stupa superbly
Cheers

Hi Chris,
A superb low angle view of this ruin. The colour is mesmerizing, as are all the fine details seen with great clarity. The basic two colour scheme with a dash of green is very effective. A very fine capture, Chris.

Hi Chris, I loved Sukhothai, it was one of my favorite places in Thailand. You chose a nice POV, from below and it works really well because the colours of the stupa contrast nicely with the sky. Great shot!
