This is the last in this series of postings of pictures taken during my visit to Thailand earlier this year. I hope you have enjoyed them as much as I did being there and taking them. There is certainly much to see and do in Bangkok, but on the whole I think I preferred the calm and relaxed atmosphere of Chiang Mai. All in all I enjoyed my trip to Thailand and would recommend it to all photographers and others in search of adventure and new sights and sounds.
So, finally, another picture from Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a Theravada Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. The temple is often referred to as "Doi Suthep" although this is actually the name of the mountain it is built on. It is located 15 kilometres from the city of Chiang Mai..
The temple has become a major tourist attraction in recent years due to the magnificence of its architecture and closeness to Chiang Mai. It is reached from the road by several hundred steps, but an easier option now exists in the form of an elevator. There is no charge to enter the temple, but a small fee is payable to use the elevator. The site is often crowded with many tourists and devotees vying for space.

I like very much the long perspective and the sense of depth of this picture that is very rich and offers us some fascinating religious art to study. The way you have captured textures and colours is exquisite, they all have kept their qualities intact despite the striking contrasts. The rendering of details is wonderful, the light has been used very effectively to light the scenery and enhance the appeal of its colours. Your series of photos from Thailand has been most rewarding and today's image is a very appropriate ending. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,

Ciao e buon fine settimana

una prospettiva in cui le statue dorate sono al centro della composizione.
Un'altra bella ed interessante proposta da condividere con tutti noi.

Stephen, this is another wonderfully photogenic scene; the bright colors on the bases of the statues are really lovely, and somewhat iridescent. Nice side POV, with good perspective lines. Is it me, or are the statues slightly out of focus?
This series of photos has been really eye-opening. Thanks for posting them.

Good frame and colours.
I like statues.

Excellent light mangement. I know these Buddha statues are not easy to take as the light is dim. It needs the right amount of flash power to sort the darker areas out. Vibrant colour tones and high sharpness too, well done.
Personally I do not like Chiang Mai at all, it is completely overrun by tourists since many years if not decades. What I would recommend, destinations off the beaten track, best reached with your own transport. Hire a car and explore the kingdom ... it will be a great fun.

Another interesting photo of buddhist temple with beautiful golden statues. Nicely framed photo, good sharpness and colors.

Nice repetition of the gilded buddha statues and taken from a good diagonal pov, which adds both dynamism and linear perspective. I like the warm cold color contrast between the gold and blue. Excellent sharpness & well framed and composed. Tfs!

Ciao caro Stephen
The gold here is so attractive. The intricate details are beautifully collected and you did well with the light. The line of the wall and the pedestals make a fine graphism. Thanks for sharing.
Have a great day, hope you're enjoying your trip
