Photographer's Note
Wat Ban Den is located in Inthakin village in Mae Taeng district some 45 kilometers North of Chiang Mai city.
Wat Ban Den is an amazingly attractive and unusual Thai Temple. The Abbot, known as Kru Ba Tuang, inherited the Temple in very poor condition and in 1988 he set out to create the most beautiful Thai Temple in the area. He managed to raise huge sums of money, donated by local people and Buddhists from across the country. Abbot Kru Ba Tuang has completely renovated the Wat Ban Den and added a number of impressive structures.
The main Temple building is built with teakwood and granite tiles and is in the Lanna Style. There are many examples of exquisite teakwood carving inside the temple. Although the structures of the Wat are relatively new, they are built in traditional architectural style.
Wat Ban Den is also one of the largest temple complexes in Chiang Mai province. The complex contains a large number of structures including an ordination hall, a viharn, a meditation hall, the kuti or monks living quarters, a drum hall and several other buildings.
In this picture, is the magnificent teak wood viharn of the Wat. It is one of the more imposing structures of the Wat Ban Den with distinctive Lanna style and a three tiered roof. The viharn on the whole, is an attractive building with its blue roof and golden bargeboards, decorated with intricate wood carvings.
I strongly recommend anyone visiting Chiang Mai to visit this new Wat ...

Hi Angshuman
The bright red, varnished teak wood Wat contrasts superbly against the bg blue roof at left. Excellent sharpness and perspective. The monks add scale & context. Nice reflections in the highly polished floor. Tfs!

Namaste, my friend Angshuman,
the depth of the image and the dynamic perspective of this wooden structure provide a great graphical power to the composition.
You looked for an effective framing to reach this beautiful visual effect, with the geometric repetition of the elements. Light and colors are perfectly managed, the photo has a high quality.
A beautiful work.
Kind regards,
Josep

Namaste Angshu
Looking at glance the framing lures the eyes easily into the image. Superb symmetrical composition and interesting informative description accompanying this shot and what a wonderfully majestic architecture commanding the space in rich colors. The long perspective and extensive depth created by the strong receding vertical columns lead in smoothly drawing viewers into the centre of the frame and deeper into the distance. What I like most is the color blend, wonderful dapple of warm light falling of the side, along with shadow plays and the painstaking delicate details that you have managed to capture and I think you are blessed by the amazing glow from the reflections. Inclusion of human interaction is very important part and critical to the composition. A real pleasure to view and tx to your tremendous effort. Congrats

Hi Angshu
ahh..there's an abvious reason to photograph this Wat, just looking down that long hall would make any photographer pull out their camera!
love the shimmer and sheen on the wood, the lighting really enhances the subject.
As for my Prague photo, yeah, i didn't change the setting on the clock :) so that time you saw was my local time in Vancouver :)

Hi Angshu,
beautiful photo. I like the extraordinary colors. The geometry is also striking with the repeated element of the column. They ceate depth and the effect is enhanced further with the reflection in the smooth floor.

Hi Angshu,
Does this ever come to an end? :) "Perspective" is without doubt the best way to describe this, what an incredible view! I love shapes and patterns, so this definitely appeals to my senses, along with rich color and balanced light. Achieving the proper exposure for something like this is key to its success, and you've done a great job so that shadows aren't too dark and highlights have stayed in tact. The depth of field is also well executed, plenty of detail all the way through. Thanks for sharing a long look down the walkway. Have a great day.
All the best,
Jason
