Chanthaburi is the capital of the province of the same name in Eastern Thailand. It is a useful transport hub for accessing the islands Koh Chang and Koh Kut and for border crossings with Cambodia.
Chantaburi is notable for durians, gem trading and its French-style cathedral.
With its peaceful riverside setting and a handful of streets lined with old shophouses, it made a perfect stopover on our way to/from Cambodia. And there are some excellent place to eat. Several local dishes have a strong Vietnamese influence.
This picture shows a small, but beautiful wat near the center of town. Unfortunately I haven't been able to trace its name, but it's uphill, right next to the river.

The filtered light brings a different mood over Chanthaburi, but that doesn't seem to prevent all that golden glitter to stand out. The presentation is dynamic in its composition, and the scene is carefully framed with a tree on one side and some details of a building on the other.
It goes without saying that the dog is the key feature in your image, bringing a sense of quirkiness and breaking the rigidity of the architecture ensemble.

The inclusion of the dog is great in this picture! And the temples in the background are wonderful with these beautiful golden colors! Excellent composition! Wonderful job!
