The Miracle
He had traveled by ship to Chumpon Province, there was a big wave and the ship could not get. They had to stay in the sea for 7 days until there was no food and water left. Luang Phoe Tuad put his feet in to the sea, then told everyone to drink it and gather the water to stock them up for supply. The sea's water was savorless/fresh, just like common drink water. This give him the name "Luang Phoe Tuad Stand over tasteless Sea" until today. His amulets are one of the best protections among Thai people.

About the place
Wat Huay Mongkol houses the largest statue of Luang Phor Thuad in the world in a park-like setting that attracts large numbers of visitors especially on holidays and weekends. The Luang Phor Thuad image sits on a pedestal with four other smaller images in niches where the faithful pastes gold-leaf in honour of Luang Phor Thuad. Wat Huay Mongkol is 13km west of Hua Hin.

About the shot
Taken during sunset in RAW, WB adjusted to achieve the warm tone, black adjusted to darken the FG. Soften the image a bit. Also before taking this shot, i've waited for this man behind the flag to give viewers an idea how big the statue is.

Hello Miguel,
Wonderful silhouettes and beautiful composition. Regards.
Huseyin

Hi Miguel,
A sublime sunset, I love the dramatic clouds and the golden tones. The silhouettes are perfect and the statue well placed off centre. The man and flag does indeed give a very good sense of scale. Great work!

Wanda

Miguel,
another out of this world shot with the HUGE silhoutte of Luang Phor Thuad. The off center placement of the statue and the flags with that single person to give the scale are key elements for the success of this shot not to speak of the great golden moment in the sky.
Peter

This is a wonderful shot. You have composed it very well with the statue on the left, but there is plenty to see in the rest of the image. Good idea to wait for the man to enter the shot. I love the tones in the sky and the black clouds seem to be conspiring to surround the statue, as if to emphasise it. Excellent shot.

Hi Miguel, beautiful shot. A crisp, clear silhouette and interesting detail in the background. An evocative image. The flags somehow remind one of a battlefield scene. Good work!

Ryno

Beautiful photo, Miguel! The sky is very nice and the silhouettes are very sharp and dark, making nice contrast effects.

Hello Miguel. A very interesting photo. By its design it works dramatically. The strong contrasts produce silhouettes. The composition succeeded very much. Instructive is also the informative text. The total result is outstanding. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Miguel,
This iamge is full of wonderful atmosphere, created by the total silhouette of the statue against the dramatic sky. Compo and colours work extremely well. Very nicely done.
Cheers Grant
