Wat and Stuppa
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Last September I made a day trip by train and bus from Bangkok, through Samut Sakon and Samut Songkhram to the well known Amphawa Floating Market. I captured lots of photos on the way and one was at this wat in the downtown district of Samut Songkhram. Inside it had two reclining buddhas covered in gold - one of which I've already posted. The tall pointed tower is called a stuppa and often contains gold jewelry donations, and sometimes the ash remains of a special monk, deep inside it's base. |
