This image has several large scratches, which I repaired with lots of pp work in APS.

Taken near Samut Sakhon, which is 37 km south west of Bangkok.

Unfortunately, the farmers fold up all the sails on the windmills just before sunset. This area is very close to the sea, & the windmills drive off some of the water, to speed up evaporation in the intense tropical heat. The result is piles of salt around the edges of the shallow pools. The pools are walled off from each other with earthen embankments, 2 of which can be seen in this image. The whole area for many kilometres around is a mosaic of salt ponds & bamboo sailed windmills. The nearby main road is elevated about 1 metre higher than the surrounding landscape.

I was covered in mud & salt after this shoot, & needed a wash when I got back to Samut Sakhon town.

Your windmills remind me of the ever famous passage in Don Quixote. The colors are fantastic and the dark spindly silhouttes are very cool.
Great work in post processing.

Seems you captured a real magic light here Chris! I love the dark and light strips in the frame and the silhouettes against the flaming sky! Good work!

A beautiful usage of the ambient light you've done for this picture. A perfect exposure to improve the great aspect of the sunset sky and to keep the main subjects as shadows in the scene. We can see nothing about the post processing tasks you've made. Really well done !

Hi Chris. Great shot both for the subject (unusual windmills) than for the light and color treatment (what an explosion of colors !). I really appreciate this view. Thanks for sharing !

It´s a fantastic scene... environment is perfect! I love that sky colors and effect.
That "windmachines" are an interesting element. Well done Chris.

Chris, beautiful lovely colors.

Hi Chris, it's a nice sunset with beautiful warm tonal ranges and a nice placement of then sun in the composition, completing it with the silhouettes of the windmills, their reflections are a bonus. Very beautiful !

Cher Chris,
1) - Très bon travail de retouches et de numérisation ;
2) - Des couleurs merveilleuses ;
3) - Un cadrage excellent (les sujets sont placés sur des points forts de l'image) ;
4) - Une note très bien rédigée et particulièrement intéressante.
Excellent travail Chris.

Indeed a very colorfull sunset with fine counterlighted windmils in perspective, fine composition the land repeating in the water.

Strong photo Chris,
I like this differcult shot, the contrast is nice, the details are good, the angle you took it is very nice, good job

These windmills are quite different from the netherland - type. Wonderfully framed with this sunset. Also the reflections of the settling sun adds a lot of atmosphere. I like it.

Hi Chris, it's a nice sunset with beautiful warm colour tint, and the dark parts and the wind mills against the fires sky, very lovely composition Chris!

Well I'm glad you embarked on the effort of doing the repair work, you really salvaged the photo and it is a beautiful one. The silhouettes of the two windmills are well placed and taken from a good angle, and just where from a compo rhythm point of view a third windmill would be expected, we get to see the setting sun. Great hues of red and yellow, and I also like the rippled water surface. Great shot, Chris.

I wish that I could give you another smiley for the determination and the hard work on this photo, Chris - before shooting and PP work.
Excellent and beautiful tresult.
I like the almost monochrome image, and the beautiful silhouettes of the windmills.
Great shot.

One of the most beautiful sunset and silhouette pictures I've seen in a while. Wonderful colours and well balanced. Well done Chris.
