Floating Market, a photo from Ratchaburi, Central

Photographer's Note

This is the extensively shown floating market of Damnoen Saduak in Ratchaburi province. I am sure you have seen this photo here in TE, or in some Thai tourist brochures. This POV is not unique, but like Taj Mahal or Eiffel Tower or Angkor Wat, etc, this photo should be in one’s gallery. A cliché, so be it. I don’t bring anything stunning, but I must post it. :-)

The cable was unavoidable, cloning was out of the question, too much work.

WOW speaking of crowded! Crowded everywhere, along the alley and in the water. Just as a thought, not saying that it is bad, I wonder what impression you would have gotten with a tripod and a powerful ND filter to make a 5-10 seconds exposure to get the blurr all of this movement.

Hello Jorge,

Unreal how people can live and shop in this place. The image is interesting because of the cultural element portrayed, the way of life. Good angle and perspective of this moment and place. The cable is fine where it is and I didn't notice it too much until I read the note. Colours look great but sharpness could be improved a bit. Thanks Jorge.

really i never seen a scene like this one.Excellent daily snapshot with all these people to be mix in the canal.The venders and the tourists make a colourful intermixture that is known in these Asian countries.Never mind for the cable,if i did not read it i will not see it.Well done Jorge.

Hola Jorge,
Like you write in your note, it's irresistible posting a shot of this place and I only didn't do it yet because the quality of my scans and of the shots proper are severally inferior to this one. All that colourful crowd, a mix of vegetable 'genuine' vendors, tourist oriented vendors and tourists themselves make a fantastic pattern. I don't remember having seen a view with so much crowd, so I guess that you achieved some originality.
The quality of the scan not perfect, but is very reasonable and let us enjoy the image very nicely. As a matter of fact, I find the exposure and colours very well balanced for a scan.

Me encanta la congestion y el tumulto de colores y objetos que se pueden apreciar en este mercado flotante; lo del cable, de verdad que no me molesta para nada, ademas es parte de la composicion. Buenisima foto! Me imagino que estabas parado en un puente?
