Khao Takiap
This hill is situated at the southern end of Hua Hin, only 4 kilometres from the town. It can be easily reached by local minibus. Visitors can go up the hilltop to enjoy a birds eye view of Hua Hin, which is one of the delightful views either during the day or night.

There is a temple called Wat Khao Takiap situated on top of the hill. The giant golden Buddha Statue standing against the cliff as you can see has become a landmark of Khao Takiap. The height of the Buddha is 17 meters tall and standing in a "calm the sea" poisture.

Whats in a name?
According to the locals, the name itself actually means "Chopstick Hill" because it resemble the four-sided blunt ends of chopsticks.

Such a beautiful place.

Thanks for sharing Miguel,

Sabina

Hello Miguel,
What a beautiful shot. I like the composition & the colours are just fantastic. A nice informative note to go with it.
Well done
Thank you
Santo

Hola Miguel.
Sonsoles.

Another very effective shot. The buddha in the landscape adds a lot to the local flavour. The way you framed this shot puts a lot of emphasis on the beach and leaves the buddha in its environment, to be discovered at the second glance.

Hi Miguel,
excellent POV, good composition, nice colors !
TFS !

Hi Miguel,

Great shot of this magnificent place. The colors are amazing, and I love the reflections of the houses and rocks in the wet sand. Good composition too. Just one detail: you could easily remove that little spot in the sky (left part, same height as the houses)!

Greetings and have a nice weekend,
Thomas

The informative note makes us understand that is a real place, not a picture taken in heaven!!!!
But the place looks like a part of our dreamy Eden...
The big statue attracted my eyes immediately
All the best

hello Miguel

Very colorful contrast and strong saturation. The view is well captured from a good pov. Well done

tfs, bill

Great shot, Miguel. Super colours and composition. I agree with Thomas with regards to the spot in the sky. A small detail, however.

I used to live in Ban Khao Takiab in 1999, right beside the main temple complex on the other side of the street and at the bottom of the hill. There were no resorts there then, just a few tiny hotels on the beach and a larger hotel close to the inlet where the fishing boats come in. The beach south of the hill was an empty stretch of clean sand. I jogged there each morning. Wonderful people in the village. I hope that hasn't changed.

Regards,
Mike

What I like:
-the paradise location, not hust a beach, but interesting rock formation
- the presence of the gold buddha
- the wet sand
- the thai style kiosk

What I don't like:
- theres a yellow cast to everything except the sky
- the presence of the house, which you can do nothing about, it seems to belong in the mediterranean, not asia

Great composition here, and I like the warm saturated colors. I'd love to be at that beach right now, it is very cold and it even snowed today in Utah. Its a very lovely and interesting place with that big golden Buddha overlooking the water. You photographed it very well.

Ryan

Hi,

Nice shot. As a geologist I like stones:) And I like the scenes where I can see their facture. However, in my opiniom there's too much green and yellow dominanta in your photo. I guess it would be goog to decrease a bit greens in PS.

Regards

hELLO my friend,
First of all I think that had the same idea about the
presentation of this scene..Your notes are useful,
I like the composition and the colours are just fantastic.
Thanks for sharing
