OK, so, we have had monks of every kind on TE. We have had praying monks, sleeping monks, eating monks, monks up a tree, monks on an elephant, monks in the river etc etc. But today I am going for the all time TE record. The greatest number of monks in one picture. Never mind the quality, my friends, just look at the quantity! I could have had even more too, if I had had a wider angle lens (drat it!)
This is part of the congregation at the World Congress of Buddhists held a Buddha Munton this year. And for those who are sick of monks to the point of distaste let me say, that, not one of them is smiling or looking serene or wise. It was just far too hot for that. Most of us were concentrating on not fainting in the heat as we waited, seemingly endlessly, for the all delegates to assemble. In all 2,500 delegates, from 27 different countries, assembled at this time, so you can see how many I failed to get in. None the less, I doubt that there is anywhere in the world where you could get more monks- male and female- from every sect and tradition, together in one picture.

Hi Kevin,

An interesting collection of monks...so many different emotions in one picture! Nice to see the subtle variations of outfits from around the world as well...

excellent...

Even Maciek hasn't had yet so many people in a single frame

Hi Kevin
An impressive display of colour and a good filling of the frame with these monks. Good capture and nice detail. Not sure if you've broken the record though.
Cheers
Aubrey

Wow Kevin, this is cool. I'm impressed by all these monks together. Indeed, I never saw this before. I even didn't see these bright yellow robes before. Great capture with many details. Great composition.

Hola Kevin,

I missed this one Kevin, what a crowd here tight in this frame, very detailled seeing all these faces, a unique shot of all these monks together, never seen before. Excellent.
Greetings
Henk

Hi Kevin - what a colourfest, brilliant catch, I love the close crop, fantastic work, the colour of their skins are a bit shocking though, a bluish purple as if they are all corpses, probably due to some artificial tunsten or neon lighting.

Hi Kevin,
this year, monks fashion is really nice ! ;-)
Good compo, just monks, nothing else.
Mix colors are really good.
Well done

Great picture, I love colourful shots of crowds. I have no idea where you were stood to be in front of so many people unnoticed.

Kevin sir, I believed you have to be a monk, to be among this masses of monks. In this mass too, never have I seen, a congregation/gathering of so many bald heads. And they all looked the same;I wouldn't know which of them are females.
The best photo of a particular scene or event, is the one that, beside with complimentary visual values, has so much to say about itself.

fantastic shot Kevin, I have never seen so many monks in one picture, very nice dense composition ;) there is sth wrong with colors though, they are a bit strange, somehow metallic. I wonder what camera you use, in many of your pictures colors are a bit strange... nice work
