[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the park at Buddha Monton a group of novices is resting during the heat of the day, taking things easy. Most novices are not, as most people think, training to be future monks. Every Thai boy is expected to be a novice at some time, just as he is later expected to ordain as a monk. In many villages the boys are ordained as novices in the eleventh or twelfth year. It is seen as part of their culture and education. Their regime is not difficult, they learn something about religion and culture but they play a lot too. Often they do this for the school holidays and return to being ordinary, naughty boys, when the term starts.

Hi Kevin, nice image.
full of people and colors.
excellent point of view, a good light and an interesting note.
thanks, ciao

you have caught those monks in a nice moment of relaxation and fun, I like the colors of their robes contrasting with the grass and the peaceful atmosphere.
Vanessa

Beautiful cpmposition here, even if the skin colors are a little on the green side...
realy painterly job, Kevin These chaps must be your students I guess but they are remarkably relaxed around you and what you capture is absolutely unique - quite a documentation! Skin tones are a bit off (on the green side)...maybe, that would be my only niggle.
Cheers, Francis

Very pleasant and relaxed image. Always took my attention the colors of the Thai monks, their brightness fill wonderful on photos. You have catched very well the atmosphere.

Hi Kevin,
Another lovely, spontaneous and well-designed photo. These Buddhist novices are obviously very relaxed with you and your photographing them; it is the best compliment a photographer can have, in my opinion! :-)

Hi Kevin,
A nice shot of a relaxed mood. Love your composition with the little kids in a very light mood. A framing with the colours of their robes setting off well with the grass. Nice notes too...sort of makes me happy knowing that these kids dont have a difficult regime to follow for being monks.

Young monks are usually fun! They are full of energy for pranks usually! I think this is a nice custome, you would learn about your heritage in this way!
