[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On his first sermon after enlightenment, the Buddha taught an assembly of monks the essence of the Dharma, Law of the Universe.

Buddhist iconography represents edifying moments of His life by postures of the arms, hand and fingers, called Mudras. The Mudra of teaching the Law, is called Vitakka-mudra, and the joining of thumb and index symbolises both the perfection of the realized Truth and the Wheel of the Law, which Dharma is often portrayed as.

Nakhom Pathom, about 60kms west of bangkok is said to be the tallest Buddhist monument in the world, and the town itself one of the earliest centers of Buddhist teaching in Thailand.

L'iconographie Bouddhiste represente les moments cruciaux de sa vie religieuse par les positions des bras, mains et doigts, qu'on appelle des mudras. la mudra de l'enseignement de la loi a pour nom Vitaka-mudra et le cercle rendu par l'attouchement du doigt et du pouce est synonyme de la perfection de la Loi, mais aussi symbole de la "Roue de la vie" ineluctable, dont on represente souvent le Dharma avec.


Nakhom Pathom est a 60kms a l'ouest de Bangkok. Le temple ou reside cette statue est renomme etre le plus haut temple Bouddhiste du monde a 120 metres, et la ville elle-meme fut un des premiers lieux d'enseignement du Bouddhisme en thailande.

Beau cadrage de près avec d'un côté les couleurs chaudes du tissu et la pièrre de l'autre. Ce qui est amusant dans ce gros plan, c'est le côté précieux et fragile des deux doigts qui se rejoignent. (si tu pouvais mettre la note en français, ça serait pas plus mal... la traduction est très approximative)
