I saw this tiger at a Buddhist temple near Kanchanaburi in Thailand. The tigers there were rescued from poachers, people who had them as pets or taxidermists.
I think its good that they were saved. But I was a little disturbed by the fact that tourists can go and see tigers that are chained up and look slightly sedated. In some ways this situation is as bad as the ones that they were rescued from.
There was a lot of sun, the tigers were all moving about as were tourists and the monks. The heat was very dry as opposed to the usual humid conditions in Thailand. |
