Hi Laurent,
The purply pinky colours in the sky make the perfect background for your well exposed monument showing us all the fine details, I also like the twinkling lights. Maybe could have a bit more space on the left so its not so close to the edge, but its still nice non the less.

ce monument aux couleurs dorées se découpe d'une façon magnifique sur le ciel offrant un très beau dégradé allant du rose au mauve,et je trouve ça très beau!Il me semble juste que j'aurais préféré qu'il y ait un peu plus d'espace sur la gauche,mais c'est quand même très beau à voir!

Ce monument que j’ai trouvé plutôt laid en journée : surtout quand le flot incessant des voiture le rend ‘imphotographiable » est ici à son avantage par cette photo de nuit .avec en arrière plan ce beau ciel.

A nice picture and a good note Laurent.I took my tripod up to Rachadamnone once, but didn't manage to get any good pictures. Yours seem to work perfectly. You probably chose the right side of the road to get the low background. Nice color too! Phibun, was of course a fascist dictator, influenced by Mussolini and was responsible for various 'fascist' style buildings , including the central post office. This shot is so nicely framed and exposed, one of the best that I have seen of this monument. Regards kevin

So, I can think that democracy was not part of life before the military coup. We had the same type of military coup 34 years ago, which will be commemorated tomorrow, April 25th.
The place looks impressive and the base of the columns seams really beautiful. Well done.

a wonderful light in the sky, leading to fine colours and a great subject with the monument in artificial light. An impressing capture of the monument in a good planned and realised composition.
BTW: Just read an article this morning that a student there is under accusal of insulting the king because he refused to stand up in a cinema while the national anthem was played.

Wonderful light you have here, a perfect glow in the sky and on the monument. the sharpness and details are very good and that fact you placed him a bit to the left makes spece to the right where we see the streets of Bangkok....very good work.

Sopt-on exposure and very impressive POV accentuating the height. Although the lights of the passing traffic look nice, I'd have cropped that part for the sake of symmetry; but it's a matter of choice of course.

Oulala!... Tu ne seras pas surpris d'apprendre que je suis impressionné par ton travail sur ce monument... Je l'ai moi-même photographié de jour, mais le résultat restera à jamais enfoui dans mes archives... :-P)

Ici, c'est remarquable de voir à quel point la lumière et le ciel rosé donne l'impression qu'il s'agit d'un truc hyper-esthétique. Tu ne pouvais trouver meilleur moment pour donner du lustre à cet ensemble. Excellente gestion de l'exposition et bonne compo off-centred.

There is something amazingly modern in this statue, created sixty-nine years ago. The carvings in pedestals are befitting, the Asian predilection for precise and busy carving, but then the are the upper portions evocative of sails. The light management is exquisite, a product of the three-second exposure. Warm regards,

Je pense que j'ai passé par ce place au moins une dizaine de fois, mais toujours dans des taxis ou tuk-tuk's. Le monument est très 'favorisé' par le cadrage et les couleurs superbes.
C'est ironique qu'il y a un monument à la Démocratie si connu dans la capital d'un pays qui rarement est gouverné en démocratie.
