[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a guardian statue in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in Wat Phra Kaew. Wat Phra Kaew is the most revered temple in Thailand. It houses the Emerald Buddha.

I converted this picture to grayscale as there wasn't very much colour on it and I think that the detail of the statue stands out more effectively.

Not Thai, of course, Matt, but Chinese. These statures were brought back from China, as ballast, in the rice ships of the 18th and 19th centuries. They ended up in almost every important temple and palace in Thailand. This one is the male lion with the decorated ball. The female opposite would have held a baby lion. I think you did well to desaturate it and it makes an attractive image. I don't quite like the top of the image touching the top of the frame. I feel that it need a little space there, so that the image can fill the frame and look comfortable. However it is a nice presentation of one of these temple sculptures. Rgerads kevin
