The Indian culture is very exquisite. Architecture, festivals and daily life manifest the rich and vibrant Indian culture.
But I must say that the way the Indian women dress up embodies the exquisite aspect of the Indian culture. The colors and patterns of the fabric, the jewelries that adorn their body...they are a sight to behold.
I was lucky to have this beautiful student pose for me. Her name is Jooi, a senior student in our school. I am posting this to follow up my BW post last time. Here, you can feast your eyes on the colors.
Taken with my 16 mm macro, f 2.8 lens. Colors were adjusted in Photoshop.

The composition is very interesting. The texture of her skin looks very soft, and you achieved to give her a very captivating glance. How did you treat the colours in PS ?
partha (14020) 2005-11-29 11:36

tcht (7565) 2005-11-29 11:39
this seems to be a perfect portrait to me :p i also like the way you framed this picture -without the top part of the girl's head, i think that helps us to focus more onto her face. and the colors are trully excellent. TFS.
isabela_sor (47748) 2005-11-29 12:03
Fantastic portrait and good light... really brings out the detail of the girl's eyes and hair well...and traditional dress.. And those eyes ..they are just so captivating.

Excellent portrait,Very sharp.
You can see from the photo that the girl is very shy.
misterB (2250) 2005-11-29 13:13
This has to be one of the most outstanding portraits i've seen on TE to date (along with "Everywhere" and "EYE"). The colours are superb, and give a real sense of warmth and character to the picture. The focus is also superb (the beads on the girl's knuckles), but the colouration seems to add a softening effect to the whole composition. But the eyes, the eyes, those piercing, powerful, dark eyes. Fantastic.
baba_flies (8829) 2005-11-29 13:19
She is so so beautiful. I love the colors of this photo so perfect and wonderful. Simply fantastic ... what more can I say?
Thanks - as usual - for all this. Pleases my small world.

mlopes (494) 2005-11-29 14:18
Perfect, perfect, perfect! no more words on this one, it looks so beautifull, the hands so real... well done
erdna (5711) 2005-11-29 14:27
Very beautiful photo! I like the way you subdued the light in the background and show only the light on the veil and face of your model. Your post processing is very clean specially the one on the right cheek and hand. Very well done.
michel_r (1118) 2005-11-29 14:52
she has a skin texture like some of these old dolls (porcelaine in french, not sure what the word is in english), given this picture a special feeling. Possily due to the PP?
Strong look, works very very well. Bravo manny.
olopez (4959) 2005-11-29 15:00

kclai (2267) 2005-11-30 2:16
Truely an exquisite beauty. The facial expression, the jewellery she's wearing and the most exquisite of all is her stare. Cool portrait. Love it, man. Added to my fav list.
greg (2835) 2005-11-30 6:03
Very beautiful, Manny, as the b/w and the TL ones. Can you say something about how you arranged the lighting here - how you got that wonderful dark background? Is the light from a door, or...?
AmiBe (6042) 2005-11-30 7:34
One of the greatest portait I've seen on TE !
What a gaze !!!
Splendid light, well done Manuel !
simonekarl (404) 2005-11-30 11:46
this is a gorgeous portrait, even better that the b'n'w version. Why? Well for one in this image you can see both the hands, and also the intese dark red colour of her scarf really bring out her skin tone.
maciekda (19895) 2005-11-30 13:28
beautiful portrait again, wonderful colors, beautiful expression of the girl, very nice post-processing as well. only compliments here. hm, maybe one small flow IMO are her eyes - too bright a bit
pilpel-adom (3018) 2005-11-30 20:12
Great picture, Manuel! Amazing portrait, amazing moment caught on Digital! Indeed, dazzaling jewelery and gaze, what a gaze! Did you ask her to pose as she is or its her Natural pose?
eloisa (186) 2005-12-01 5:57
thanks for answering to my curiousity regarding the colours of the scarf... finally, I can't decide if i prefer the color shot or the b&w.
Both are incredible. the look of the girl is not less intense than in the b&w picture of the other day. I thought it would be.
Incredibly intense shot.
Graal (102604) 2005-12-01 12:41

the pieces of white shine and the dark reds spekled together make a very great colour contrast, I also like where you have pplaced her in the picture to the side, she is terribly beautiful
lelet (106) 2007-08-18 15:46
her eyes take me into a mysterious land, it's so intense. I want to discover what her mind is thinking about
The colour is perfect, serius, just like her eyes does.

kabel (1926) 2010-09-06 13:26
Hello, What an exquisite portrait! It has the feel of an old masters painting. Usually the tendency is to capture a portrait in an upright or vertical manner, but here as an artist you have chosen a horizontal frame. By placing the subject in the upper right corner of the frame, you have left room for the viewer to focus on her hands and clothing and the richness of the scene. Inspiring.
onphoto (1253) 2014-03-24 3:39
Amazing image! It is almost 10 years old and it is perfect! Great job. Great look! You proved that it doesnt matter what camera or lense you use, but your ideas and creativity!
