Photographer’s Note

Some weeks ago I uploaded the photograph of Bangkok's Wat Yannawa, a downtown Thai Buddhist monastery at the Chao Phraya Kings River only a few steps from the next BTS Skytrain station. This Wat is nicknamed by locals the boat Wat but the picture I presented first, did not show the famous Chinese junk because I was not happy with what I had in archive. However I promised to upload it later and here it is.

The two chedis on deck of the stone boat represent the masts and the altar to the rear, the wheel house. Because of this, the locals call the temple “sampao chedi” or the Chinese junk with chedis. The "boat" is facing the Chao Phraya river.
